Not too long ago, Hubby and I were out of town for the weekend and spent the nights in a hotel. I had an interesting dream that I thought I'd share here on my blog. I was dreaming that we were somewhere overseas. I think somewhere like Southeast Asia (sensible since we lived there for three years). It was hot. We were going into a large building to watch some kids (maybe Titus in a preschool show?) perform something and could feel the cool air of the air conditioning pouring out as we were walking up the steps towards the door. Inside it was so cold, we were told we could pick out a quilt to wrap up in. The quilts were all very brightly colored and very fun. I got to thinking how fun it would be to make a brightly colored quilt or two to donate to whatever the place was. As I was looking over the quilts, I kept thinking about how cold it was and how much the air conditioning was turned down.
Eventually I woke up enough and remembered my dream and realized the source of the dream:
Earlier that night after Hubby had fallen asleep (in 5.78 seconds) I was feeling like the room was stuffy. Maybe the temperature in the room had changed. Maybe the temperature of my personal built-in furnace had changed. No matter. I was hot. I got up to turn on the air conditioner. Ahhh.... I felt better quickly and fell asleep. When the air kicked on, the vent in the wall was pouring all that cold air directly on me.
So I started dreaming about how cold it was inside a building. And evidently I am obsessed enough with quilts that they make it into my dreams. (I'm wondering if I should be worried.)
(Dreamt vs. Dreamed::: Dreamt is more of a British English term and Dreamed is more of an American English term.
Since we lived in Singapore and it used to be a British colony and some
of the buildings there were freezing because of the cold air
conditioning, I'll use Dreamt in my title. Keep in mind that
Singapore is always hot and humid. Currently at 11a.m. it is 84 degrees and 74%
humidity. The coldest places were the movie theaters. We would actually
put on jeans and bring a sweatshirt to wear during the movie.)
So just another strange little peek into my mind. Even my mind as I am sleeping. (I hope this was entertaining for you Rachie!!) ;)

When I Don't Plan Ahead
I am going to a baby shower tonight for this sweet angel girl.
I just had to take a picture of the gift bag.
It was the only gift bag we had that was big enough. But please notice the green polka-dot and purple tissue paper. That's kinda girly, isn't it?
Gotta eat supper and then head to the baby shower. Just had to share. :)

Dr. Max
I enjoy participating in Linda@2nd Cup of Coffee's Random Questions posts. It gives me ideas about what to write about and brings up some fun childhood memories. I like reading the answers of all the people that participate and link up to this.
A couple of weeks ago in one of the Random Questions posts there was a question about sharing an after school memory. One of the blogs I went to wrote about a TV show she used to rush home from school to watched and even included a short video of the show. I starting laughing when I watched it because I remembered watching that show when I was very small. It's called Dr. Max and Mombo.
When I was four years old, my dad took my siblings and I swimming at the local rec center. After the swim my older sisters and I were showering. I slipped in the shower as I was trying to leave. I fell and smacked my head on the ledge you step over to get out. I cut my forehead and started bleeding. One of my memories of that experience is sitting in the office at the rec center and someone suggesting that they should call Dr. Max. I was sooooo excited because I thought it would be the Dr. Max of the TV show.
Then I was really disappointed when I realized that it wasn't.
I ended up with three or four stitches and a scar in the middle of my forehead.
Just thought I'd share. :)

Monday, Monday
Today, this first day of the month of June, the day of my father's birth, I learned a couple of lessons involving water.
I decided today was a good day to experiment with the table decorations for the rehearsal dinner for Caleb and Amanda. I found some awesome glass bowls from IKEA (Oh, that shopping trip will have to be another post...) to fill with water and float some daisy blossoms and slices of lemons and limes. (This was Megan's idea.) I experimented with thicker slices and thinner slices. I like the thicker ones, especially if there are seeds to remove. I plopped the lemon slices in the bowl and followed that with the lime slices. To my surprise The lime slices sunk to the bottom of the bowl! Odd. But Megan and I decided that look was okay too. A couple of hours later I looked at my master pieces and the lime slices were suspended kind of halfway up in the water. Kinda cool!
Oh I should go find my camera and post the pictures I took...

My other all important lesson, well not really a lesson as much as not thinking something through on my part until it was too late:
As I backed the SUV out of the garage to buy the lemons, lime and daisies I needed for my experiment, I thought I should start the sprinkler system. So I hopped out, left the car in the driveway, and went in the garage to get it going. Well, as I was walking back to the car, I realized I wasn't going to quite make it in the car before the sprinkler heads popped up. Just as I turned my back to get in I got hit in the back with the sprinkler! I laughed and laughed at myself and wondered what I looked like when I got out to run my errands.
Just another crazy Monday here in Minnesota!
