1. Who knows a secret or two about you?
My husband and my pastor and his wife.
Worst stomach flu ever.
3. Have you ever burned yourself?
Often. With the iron, oven, grill, and curling iron. (just look at my forehead for that last one.)
4. Who is your hero?
I've been let down by too many people, so I gotta say Jesus Christ. Hands down.
5. Would you ever want to be a supermodel?
Oh my word, no!
6. When is your next party?
July 4th when my son gets married!!! (Maybe I should say July 3rd, the rehearsal and dinner...)
7. Do you know what you will wear tomorrow?
Yes I actually do since I actually though ahead for Sunday. I'm glad cuz I usually stand in my closet staring at my clothes too long and then make us get to church later than my husband wants to.
8. Have you ever accidentally eaten an insect?
I don’t want to know.
9. Do you talk baby talk?
Yes. To babies.
10. Would you ever work in a retirement home?
I kinda doubt it.
11. Are you ever purposely irritating?
I don’t think I do it purposely, but yes, I’m certain I’ve been irritating.
12. If you could fly, where would you go first?
To wherever my husband and I decide to go for our 25th wedding anniversary.
13. Do you prefer boats or planes?
Hmm... Planes probably, but a cruise ship is kind of cool, if you don't mind vacationing with 2,000 or so other people.
14. One best friend or 10 acquaintances?
One best friend. I prefer relationships with some depth.
15. Favorite food?
Right now I got a hankerin' for some seafood so we are going to Red Lobster tomorrow.
16. Do you believe that your first love never dies?
Weird question. If the relationship didn't work out was it love? I thought I was in love a couple of times before my husband, but can't imagine myself married to anyone but My Husband.
17. What upcoming event are you waiting and ready for?
Wedding bells are ringing… (see #6)
18. Do you get your nails done?
Toenails more often. I used to get a pedicure every three weeks when we lived 80 miles north of the equator. ::SIGH:: I miss that.

A quarter pounder that was nasty.
20. Are you an emotional person?
Yes. I don't know if I like that about me.
21. When did your last relationship end?
Well, I've been married for almost 25 years. Praise God for that!

With my husband.

I wish it wasn't getting older with me.

Only when I am hot.

Nope.

Yep. (Or maybe I should say, "Me? Never! **rolls eyes**)

Yes I did. Both my kids were here and we were between bouts of the stomach flu making the rounds. :/

Cool evenings. Mid-seventies days.

Yes. Quite often. Fireproof made me cry.

My husband in real life. My friend Connie through email.

My husband. (Isn't he lucky?) We went to a thrift shop and saw something that made me cry... a stroller EXACTLY like I used to push my babies around in! I even took a picture.

Pella, Iowa

KU Graduation
We had quite the week.
Busy, but fun.
It started off with some business meetings in Iowa for my husband. I got to spend time in a cute little Dutch town that has a tulip festival in May. I was there a week after the festival, but got to see a lot of the tulips in bloom. Here is one picture for now. I wil post more later.
After Pete's work was done we headed down to Kansas to get the kids moved out of their dorm rooms. Caleb had found an apartment the week before, so his stuff went there.
Friday was filled with moving, moving, moving. Oh and Megan and I had "practice" hair styles done for Caleb & Amanda's wedding in July. That was fun. Not sure I'll post those pictures. :) You'll just have to wait until the wedding pictures get posted.
Friday afternoon was hot and muggy. We spent a good part of it getting Megan moved out. I stayed in her room to do a little cleaning while the rest carried stuff down -- waited for the elevator from the 9th floor. I know Megan is really happy to never live in the ghetto dorm again.
We decided to relax after all that work by hanging out at the kids favorite coffee shop downtown. Just as Megan and I were walking in the doors, it started to pour rain. It was enjoyable to stay dry and listen to the rain (and hail) and hang out as a family. But soon we needed to go to meet a friend of Megan's for supper. We thought it had let up a bit on the rain. It hadn't. We were all drenched by the time we got to the cars. And I mean Drenched. (not to mention what the rain did to our overly hair-sprayed hair...) The drive to the restaurant was nerve wracking. The streets were flooding. I heard that it rained 5 inches that evening!
Saturday started with the William Allan White School of Journalism recognizing its graduates. Yes, that would be Caleb in his shorts and Chacos under the robe.
It was a windy day in Kansas. (Notice the tassle.)
Sunday afternoon was a beautiful day. It was in the low 70s and sunny. The university graduation involves the "walk down the hill." Pretty significant way to remember your graduation. It took 1 1/2 hours for everyone to make the walk.
The last person in line is Caleb. Can you see the orange shoes? He wore those for his high school graduation too. What a guy.
This is his college. He's in the middle row far right with sunglasses and his arms up.

Prayer
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Jehovah-Jireh, You are my provider. If I didn’t have problems, my focus would grow inward. I thank You, by faith, for the trials of this life because they draw me to You and remind me that this Earth is not my home.

Oldies But Goodies
Here are some quite awesome pictures I scanned into the computer recently. I don't have very many pictures of me as a kid. These are a few that my mom printed from slides and gave to us kids. I am the youngest of four. So it's easy to pick me out as the smallest ones in these pictures.
The next few are some birthday pictures. My mom always made us shape cakes. We got to pick out what we wanted. (I made shape cakes for my kids too.)
This is my with my mom's hairdryer on. Any one remember those? Megan looked at this picture when she was little and thought it was her.
Here's one taken in a photo booth. I hated this haircut. I used to get called a boy and hid my head in my desk at school because I was so embarrassed. Oh the trials of childhood.
The next two are me and my maternal grandfather at Christmas time. Notice the awesome camera/flash in the first picture? The second one has my brother in the picture.
This one is all four kids with my paternal grandparents. Don't you just love my really short dress, my brother's plaid sport coat and my sister's gloves? Not to mention my grandma's hat. I pretty sure this was for Easter.
