We went to church this morning with Caleb and Amanda. I just love their church. I love to hear the truth preached from the Bible. I love how it all comes back to the cross.
Here is my boy working the sound board this morning:
Well, okay, not so much a boy any more...
A picture of the outside of the church. They bought an old church building in downtown Kansas City. (Well, not our son and DIL. They didn't buy the church building, the church did. Well, you know what I mean...)
We sang a song called Rock of Ages (When the Day Seems Long). I was about in tears by the end. The words are so powerful. Enjoy:

October Photo Journal -- Day 16
Boy, I tell ya...all this hanging out with the kids sure does wear me out! I'm plum tuckered out.
(It always great to spend time with them. I just feel a bit off today. I'm crawling into bed as soon as I hit publish.)
So today's photo should be titled: You Know You're In Kansas....
Or maybe an alternate title: This Is Where Storms Come From.
(Get it? Get it? Storm Assembly Area?!) ha ha ha (Joke is courtesy of Caleb.)

October Photo Journal -- Day 15
Three years ago today I started writing this blog. 463 posts later, I am amazed it's still going...
To continue my Blogaversary Celebration Month I took a picture of my son and DIL. We were having ice cream and I told them I needed a picture for today. So they posed:
They are so adorable, aren't they? :) I just love them. (We had to say goodbye to our daughter and SIL this evening because they had a very important one year old birthday party to go to. Their nephew. Sounds way to fun to miss.)

October Photo Journal -- Day 14
We had a really great day with our kids. We spent most of the day with Megan. We love her and Zach's new apartment. Megan cooked a couple of great meals. After lunch we got to tour the Pharmacy Building where she has all her classes. It's brand new this year and looks so nice on the inside.
I got a kick out of the name of the cafeteria. Clever, huh?

October Photo Journal -- Day 13
We just got to Kansas City.
We are going to spend a wonderful long weekend with our wonderful kids. I can't wait!
On our drive here we stopped at our favorite BBQ place. Not only is the BBQ amazing, so is the dessert.
Ice Cream.
Just look at the choices:
Sadly, tonight I just didn't have room for the ice cream. (Okay, I did have a couple of bites of the hubby's sundae...)

October Photo Journal -- Day 12
Today? I baked! (I used to do this every week as we had a Bible study at our house for three or so years and I baked something for dessert every week. I kind of miss that.) (Mostly I miss the people in our Bible study.) (A lot.)
I signed up to bring a snack for the Tuesday afternoon Bible study I started going to last week. (Frankly....it's a good thing I signed up for today, otherwise I would have had a hard time making myself go today.)
Today's treat was: (Want the recipe? I hope so, because I'm going to type it out.)

October Photo Journal -- Day 11
I made a road trip to the town we used to live in. Cuz really? I can't give up my hairdresser. :)
While I was on the road, I enjoyed listening to some tapes (cassette tapes.... remember those?) that I found when sorting through things in my desk.
I got home in time to watch this sunset tonight:
Soooo pretty! I am so blessed to get to see sunsets like this basically every day.
