I'm pretty sure that's the right word. Immune. It seems to describe my situation. One of the definitions in Webster's Dictionary is: not susceptible or responsive.
Yep that definition works.
See, years ago I became unresponsive to my husband's alarm which goes off five mornings a week at 5am. Good thing, because I really don't think there is oxygen at that hour.
But the flip side of being immune is not so good from my point of view.
Tonight, I snuggled into bed for a good night's sleep about 45 minutes after my sweetie turned out his light. I read my book for a whopping 10 minutes. I kept drifting off and not remembering what I had read. So I turned off my light. Arranged my myriad of pillows (only 3!). Blissfully relaxed thinking about the day tomorrow. Praying for my loved ones. Praising God for the wonderful blessings He has given my kids. Ahhhh. Sleeeep.
**Snort**
**Full Out Snore**
(Hint: It's NOT me.)
Nudge husband with my foot.
Pause in noise. Resume heavy breathing.
Me: Turn Over!
He turned over. Pause in noise. Snort.
Darn.
Several more nudges. No change.
I think he has become immune to my nudges and heavy sighs.
Get up and vent on blog, hoping he'll get through this stage of sleep so I can crawl back into bed and fall asleep.
**SIGH**
Have I mentioned that I dearly love my husband? Just wish he slept more quietly.
Okay. Off to do this again. Wish me luck!

Thoughtful Thursday
Isaiah 43:1&2, 4a, 5a
But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you... Do not be afraid, for I am with you...

Random Thoughts
- I found out that they are discontinuing my favorite sandwich at our local coffee shop. And my favorite bread. Bummer. (The owner told me he'll work on a new favorite sandwich for me.)
- Megan is doing an awesome job of adjusting to school and being 500 miles away. She even has a great attitude about living in the smallest room in the "Ghetto Dorm." She's getting involved in Navigators and a church and Bible study and making new friends. Yay!
- I miss her terribly.
- Caleb is sailing right through college. In Love. So Sweet. Has no hair. Hmmm... Loves playing that guitar we gave him on a "whim" when he was 13. He leads worship for Navigators and is on the worship team for his church. And last Sunday? HE SANG A SOLO IN CHURCH! In front of everybody! I was so amazed I cried. (what a mom, huh?) He sang a song called Pour Out. Go here to listen to Shawn McDonald sing it.
- I miss him terribly.
- Caleb's girlfriend, Amanda, got accepted into medical school. She is very excited and we are excited for her.
- We had a great road-trip to Kansas. The time on the road was sweet.
- My dear husband says he likes being with me. I like being with him, too. Whew. Good thing.
- My favorite TV show is Jon & Kate Plus 8. Cannot get enough of those adorable kids. I've watched the same episodes many times.
- My other favorite TV show is The Office. It makes me happy and make me laugh.
- I'm loving the cool temps and the fall colors. What I don't like about fall is the fact that winter comes next. And up here it comes cold and long. **Sigh**
- I am weary of the political commercials. Aren't we all? When I was watching TV the other afternoon I saw a commercial that had a baby eating a bowl of spaghetti. That was it. Across the bottom of the screen was a timer and the words "A break from the political commercials." It lasted for 30 seconds. It made me laugh!
